The conservation status of all known New Zealand vascular plant taxa at the rank of species and below were reassessed in 2012 using the New Zealand Threat Classification System (NZTCS). Distribution
Endemic. North and South Islands.
Habitat
Terricolous in damp sites, such as near waterfalls, on moist clay banks, on tarn margins and within seepages, where it grows threaded amongst other vascular plants and mosses.
Threats
Recent field surveys have shown that this species is both biologically sparse, naturally uncommon and under no clear threats as such it has recently been listed as 'Naturally Uncommon' (see Glenny et al. (2011))
