Features
Ascomata are flesh-coloured, subsessile, lobed, up to 2 cm tall. The asci are cylindrical, and 8-spored. The ascospores are globose, hyaline, and 18 µm diameter.
Berggrenia aurantiaca, also described from New Zealand, has elliptical ascospores, which are 22–25 x 16–18 µm.
