Features

The fruit bodies are up to 6 x 2.5 cm, branched, and obpyramidal in profile. The stalk (stipe) is single and up to 23 x 6 mm. It tapers downward and is rounded at base, with a few aborted branchlets, which are off-white in colour. There are two to several major branches that arise at about the same level, each is up to 4 mm thick, and pale greyish yellow. The apices are cuspidate to dichotomous, short, stout, and pale lavender when young but fading in age. All parts appear subtranslucent or water-soaked. There is both negligible odour and taste. The spores are (8–)9.5–11 x 4.3–5 µm, ellipsoid to subcylindrical, and conspicuously roughened in profile. The spore wall, which is less than 0.2 µm thick, is ornamented with raised warts and meandering ridges that cover most of the wall surface.
