Uredinia amphigenous and on stems and bracts, scattered, bullate, 0.2–0.6 mm. diameter, ferruginous, pulverulent, partially covered by the ruptured epidermis. The large number of scattered germ pores and presence of paraphyses separate this rust from the uredinial stage of Uromyces salicorniae; the latter having only four germ pores.
