TAXONOMIC NOTES

The rosette forming Brachyglottis are in serious need of a modern taxonomic revision. Some preliminary work is now underway  - a joint project with the University of Canterbury and Landcare Research. The Brachyglottis bellidioides complex comprises a range of entities including several with valid names that, at least in the field, seem distinct. Pending results of a full revision it seems prudent to retain those names for which field botanists have evidenced some support.
