Habitat
In New Zealand recorded growing semi-submerged in sand and silt under willows (Salix fragilis) on thye side a a creek.
Similar Taxa
Liliaeopsis brasiliensis differs from the two New Zealand species L. novae-zelandiae and L. ruthiana, by its flat rather than tubular, sparingly, inconspicuously septate leaves and cream-coloured flowers. The flowers of Lilaeopsis are borne in 3-flowered inflorescences, those of the New Zealand species are either solitary or, more rarely 2-flowered.
