  1. Myosotidium hortensia

  2. Can anyone tell me what insects are connected with the forget me not; eg.what insect pollinates it.
    Thank you, Jo

  3. I suggest you try tracking down Rowan Emberson who has done lots of invertebrate work on the Chatham Islands - he was based at Lincoln University so try asking there (I think he has retired but they should be able to help). In my work on the Chatham Islands I never saw any invertebrates visiting flowers, plants seem to set plenty of seed in the wild and in cultivation so it may not have a critical need for a pollinator. However, I really don't know, and like with much of our flora what you ask about here merely highlights what we don't know and really need to study better.

  4. Thank you very much for your suggestion; I will try that.
I am a botanical artist and at present am doing a small series of paintings of NZ flora with associated insects. If you know any one else who may be able to give advice on this subject, preferable in Canterbury, I would appreciate any other contacts.

  5. As a friend of Rowan E I know he is overseas in the US and may not reply to emails. As a substitute, you could try John Marris at Lincoln Uni, He can look in the collection for the material Rowan collected. Alternatively, if you contact me ([email protected]) I may be able to give you his email address. I am also overseas so may not reply quickly.

  6. Thank you all so much for your help with this.I am shortly to visit Brian Patrick who has kindly agreed to help me further in my quest.
