Is Ourisa macrophylla var robusta (ref H. H. Allan NZ Flora 1961) still valid. Photo taken yesterday at Tongoio Whitepine Reserve, Hawkes Bay or am I hopelessly off beat? Help with photo id anyone please.
This looks like Jovellana sinclarii.
Thank you so much for that and yes you are absolutely correct. Years ago once cultivated J. violacea from Chile. Such a garden worthy genus. Cheers.
John is right, Jovellana sinclairii which does grow in Whitepine Reserve
