  1. Celmisia discolor factsheet

  2. I have been wondering why NZPCN does not have a factsheet for Celmisia discolor?

  3. Hi Jane
This looks like an oversight. This taxon is included in Peter de Lange and Jeremy Rolfe's Indigenous Plant Checklist 2010 and I cannot find any reason why we should have excluded it. It is also illustrated in Alan Mark's new book. I will check with Peter and Jeremy and hopefully that will resolve this. We can easily raise a page for the taxon so if you have any photos that you would be willing for us to use please send thrm through and we will be able to illustrate the page immediately. Thanks for raising this.

  4. Mea Culpa - its an oversight.
    Ciao

  5. Interestingly, Tony Druce, didn't recognise Celmisia discolor as any different from C. incana and, accordingly, he subsumed discolor into incana. For that reason C. discolor wasn't ever included in any of Tony's masterlist iterations and it seems that Shannel Courtney has adopted a similar position in his ongoing updating of Tony's original masterlist. In Tony's local and regional lists, he denotes discolor within incana. I'm not suggesting that that explains the factsheet absence, though.

    Cheers, Geoff R
