    I found this plant during a survey along the Marakopa coastline. It doesn't look like the V.obtusata photos on the website but the habitat description sounds spot on. Any suggestions?

    Habitat and location suggests Veronica stricta var. macroura, what do you think? It looks a lot like the ones we get down this way.

    I agree with |Matt's ID. H obtusata has a very restricted range well north of Marokopa (the nearest being Kawhia where it is very rare now, then the Auckland west coast); it's foliage and young stems are typically much darker green than in this photo.
