  1. Tecomanthe speciosa

  2. Hi understood that you could not cultivate Tecomanthe from seed has anyone actually done this? Thanks Kaye

  3. Tecomanthe is very easily grown from seed provided it is sown fresh (if dried out forget it). Collect it from the opening pods, and sow as soon as possible. Place seeds on the surface of seed-raising mix - don't bury them, and keep moist. They germinate very quickly. The problem with thsi species is usually gettting fresh seed.

  4. Hi Kaye, We have fresh pods on our Tecomanthe at Auckland Zoo. Contact me via the zoo and I'll put some in the post if you want to try them. I can concur with Peter they germinate easily. We get seedlings appearing in the gravel path in the Japanese garden
