  1. Small plants growing out of moss patch, what are they?

  2. I've found a very unusual looking small plant in my native forest in the Far North.
They (four in total) are growing out of a patch of moss on the ridge.
They are about 5~7cm tall, with a pair of small tough leaves pointing upwards and looking sideway (normal ones look upwards).
Somehow they have some sort of seeds or buds(?).

  3. Looks like a species of the fern ally Tmesipteris. Somebody else will know the most likely species for the Far North.

  4. Thank you for your quick response. By looking at the species on google they seem to grow long and hung down. Ones I saw were short, hard and growing upwards like a little tree maybe because they were on the top ridge getting lots of sun.
Thanks for taking the time to reply.

  5. Temsipteris tannensis
