  1. Hebe carnosula?

    I found a few different hebes on my trip up to Red Hills plateau - I'm still pretty terrible at IDing them - is this Hebe carnosula or Hebe odora?

    Any tips/advice for getting better at hebe IDing?

    Looks like Hebe carnosula - but to be certain you really need to see the young stems (are they red?), and with any Hebe look to see whether there is a leaf bud sinus or not. Bayly & Kellow (2006) - the Hebe monograph published by Te Papa press is your best guide.
