  1. Plant ID

  2. Hi all, I just have one more plant that i would love some help with. the image is a close. the plant itself looks spikey and the leaves if that is what you call them, look very small from afar. Thanks again

  3. Sorry the image is not very clear, which is why I suspect no one has offered an answer. It "might" be mingimingi (Leucophogon fasciculatus) but I would not want to commit myself to that. Can you post up an image showing a sprig of the plant on a neutral back ground. Are there any flowers? How big is the plant?

  4. another

  5. last one. this is the only flower i could find on the plant

  6. Hi Cheryll, we'd love to help, but there is a large number of exotic and native plants in NZ so we need more details. If you could supply a better photo we would have a better chance at ID. Thanks!

  7. sorry here is a part of it on a neutral backgroung

  8. Hi Cheryl,

I suspect the flower - which is out of focus - is not associated with your plant. From what I see I believe your shrub is indeed mingimingi (Leucopogon fasciculatus), a stressed plant because of its colour. If you want an accurate identification please post it to me at the Department of Conservation, Private Bag 68 908, Newton, Auckland 1145. Send a sprig about 10 cm long, dried first please.

  9. Could it possibly be Leptospermum scoparium var. incanum? http://www.nzpcn.org.nz/flora_details.aspx?ID=2186 The flower is out of focus, but the shape is similar to L. scoparium.

  10. Yes Leptospermum. A cultivar of some sort. If you want to know the exact one try Murray Dawson ([email protected]). It is not var.incanum - leaves too small, wrong colour etc. Flowers suggest 'nicholsonii' is involved. Murray did his M.Sc on Leptospermum cultivars so best bet.
