    Hi I'd just like to know what camera Mike Thorsen captured his images on (members only pictures)

    Hi Vijay. Glad you like them. I used to use a Canon 40D with a Canon100mm macro lens and canon macro ring lite flash and got pretty good results. Now I use a variety of gear including a Canon 5d II, a 100mm IS macro II, MPE-65 macro at 1x to 3x magnification and twin lite flashes + other flashes as needed. Many images are taken with 2-4 flash units triggered by rf. The real close-ups are taken in a studio with Bowens 500ws flashes and focussing stage and geared tripod head against a black velvet background. Now I shoot most field images hand held as the new Canon 100mm IS when paired with their twin lite gets good detail. None of my images are focus-stacked (I don't have the time).
