    If we simply cut the old flower stem off will the rest of the plant continue to grow and producw new flowers next season?

    Hi Brian,
    I'm pretty sure that in this Echium species the leaf rosette surrounding a flower-head dies after flowering has finished. Other rosettes will continue to grow, but if you cut off the flower-head the leaves below it will still die.
