What is the oldest Carex secta you know of ?
The oldest I know are ones I planted 30 years ago in a gully near Hillcrest, Hamilton
Can't think of any reason why they shouldn't live for a very long time if their habitat is stable. My guess would easily be over 100 years and I wouldn't be surprised if large plants are over 500 years old
Mike is probably right, the tallest I know of are well over 2m. That is to say that I am about 1.7m and have walked underneath them.
