    Is this plant a problem or can I plant one in Swanson?

    From Flora of NZ Vol. IV: "...a long persistent relic.... on forest margins in wetter parts of NZ.; some forms also set seed and have established as small wild populations"
    Check with your council and plant non-seeding varieties if you are still in doubt.

    It was listed as an invasive weed by the Waitakere Council, so perhaps give it a miss. If you want a large herb with pretty blue flowers you could try Chatham Island Forget-Me-Not: http://nzpcn.org.nz/flora_details.aspx?ID=73
