  1. Thelymitra pauciflora?

  2. Any advances on Thelymitra pauciflora? That is the nearest I can get but the top of the column looks more like T. longifolia from the illustrations I have available. flower diameter on the small side for T. pulchella although I didn't measure it.
Tasman District on an ex-radiata skid-site, Moutere gravel, with sweet vernal and Microtis unifolia.

  3. Looks like T. pauciflora to me but in most descriptions the name is qualified with an aff or an agg

  4. Thanks Mike,
I have found similar photos for Australian plants on the net, just none of the photos here have the same arcing over at the top of the column. Always a bit cautious about internet sources.

  5. That's definitely what we call Thelymitra pauciflora here in the far north. A few plants are still flowering up here and I photographed an attractive pink specimen at Lake Ohia last weekend. The post anther lobe on Thelymitra longifolia is quite different and T. longifolia has thickly bunched cilia like cotton wool. You'll recognise it when you do come across it.

  6. That's great thanks Bill and Mike, I'll stick with T. pauciflora.
