    But I am sure there will be better botanists out that will be able to tell you more definitely, john

    I'm certainly no 'better botanist' but I am pretty familiar with this species and John is spot on, it is Mimulus repens.

    Thanks Jesse. I saw the same species flowering again at Wainono Lagoon. Hope it sticks in my head for a long time.
