  1. Hoary Head

  2. Had an awesome weekend hunting for caves on Hoary Head - Just wondering if anyone can help me ID a couple of flowers/plants. I had a pretty good look for the clematis but didn't find anything flowering.

  3. and this one too.

  4. Hi Andrew,

the first one is an Epilobium and the other a Euphrasia. Don't know what species. Find any caves?

  5. Cheers - i'm sure I can deduce them from there. On top of hoary head itself theres nothing - one or two holes that clag up pretty quickly with no wind, and a few rock piles that have good wind but way to much rock to bother with, there were a few leads further down but nothing to rush back to.

There was a few metal cages on top of hoary - I thought they might have moonwort in them but I couldn't see anything inside that was different from the surrounding areas. Heaps of 1080 up there - 4 goats seen, 3 shot.

  6. I'd be interested to hear what the Epilobium is - possibly E. vernicosum? Pity about the cave leads, but you never know to you look. At least you got some good botany in.

  7. Buongiorno. Mike I think is on to it..Epilobium vernicosum seems right. Funny to think Raven referred that to E. glabellum. Not many cave leads.kn Hoary Head ehen I prospected there in mid 1980s.

  8. Awesome cheers Peter - yeah I think if anything decent is ever found around there it will be well down in the bush somewhere.
