  1. Help me identify this plant that has popped up in my garden

  2. Red maple shaped leaves - each leaf about 15 - 25cm wide

    These are about 30 - 40cm in height. and self seeded

  3. Hi there - Looks rather like a Castor Oil Plant (Ricinus communis) - this species often turns up in gardens, especially if you have had soil bought in from elsewhere. It persists for a long time in the soil seed bank. Some people regard it as highly ornamental. Its very fast growing, and will seed freely. However, as its rather poisonous if you don't want it, get rid of it.
