Wondering if this is a hybrid between F fusca and F solandri, or whether it is a specimin planting of an exotic Nothofagaceae, or another plant altogether?
Found growing as a large spreading tree (=size of an adult red beech, ~18m tall) in a rest area on the eastern side of Lake Taupo near Motutere Bay.
Leaves are ~2cm long, with smooth/undulate edges and sharply, minutely toothed ends.
