    This looks like one of the many exotic buttercups, possibly Ranunculus acris subsp. acris. Many buttercups have similar flowers, if you post a photo of the leaves it will be easier to give an ID.

  5. Hi Brook - I agree with Jesse - you need to show us the foliage - its is a Ranunculus to be sure but from what little I can see of the foliage it could be R. sardous or even an indigenous species
