    Hi - my 5 year old son stood on this spike yesterday and has been in a lot of pain ever since. At the time we took him to the Dr, we didn't know what he'd stood on, but we now believe it was this. His foot is still very sore, quite out of proportion to this size of the puncture wound. If anyone is able to identify this, I would be very grateful. We live in Queenstown. Many thanks!

    I'm not sure what it is but the weeds people at your local council may well be the ones to ask. If your son's foot fails to settle there may be a piece of the spine still there.
