I'm posting this on behalf of a member of the public who emailed the question in. Can anyone help? "Please tell me who eats the berries (if any thing) and when are the berries ripe."
Hi Jesse - in relation to when the fruits are ripe the nzpcn phenology records suggest that the main fruiting period occurs between January - April although a fruiting record in August suggests that some fruit may be available throughout the year.
And who eats them? Aside from the usual small birds (black birds, wax eye's, tui, finches) and rodents (rats and mice - I have seen this) my son does...
Thanks folks!
