  1. What is this plant?

  2. Hi.
I have this little flower in my garden, but have no idea what it is called! It is about 8 inches high, in flower now, but going over... in full sun, drought hardy, no scent. Very pretty!

If someone could tell me what it is, I would be very grateful.

  3. Hi - What do the leaves look like? It looks like a Kniphofia known as 'red hot poker' (see http://www.nzpcn.org.nz/flora_details.aspx?ID=4684) but without foliage you may also have a species of Aloe or something in that area - if you can please load up some images showing the whole plant, and especially the leaves and whole inflorescence we may be able to give you a better answer.

  4. Hi

Does it grow from a bulb? It could be a lachenalia. Google this and have a look.

    Cheers

  5. Hi Anna, It looks like an Aloe to me. You can see the bluish, toothed leaves in the background. The red flower colour could be a red herring (due to light levels when the photo was taken), although Aloe succotrina (which is not commonly planted) tends to have redder flowers than other species/varieties. Another photo in higher light would be helpful, as well as the foliage.
