    What is the average life span or longest known span of a Karo?. We have a lovely old one on our property, unfortunately right where the architect says is the best place to build another room. We have put this off for 6 months as we love the tree so much. However we have been told they don't live that long. Anyone know? May have to wait until it or us die, lol.

    I personally don't know but I can say that I have ones I planted in 1978 still going strong in 2014....

    Don't know the natural life span, but my guess would be a lifespan over 100 years. During the drought lots of reasonably mature planted karo on the Coromandel Peninsula died suddenly.
