  1. I would appreciate the ID of this plant

  2. This plant was growing at the a waste area at the back of the sand dunes,Whangamata beach. Photographed June

  3. I have collected this from Whangamata before but its name eludes me. It's in the Crassulaceae and is either a Sedum or an Aeonium. I will need to go back through my collecting books and get back to you. It's not indigenous.

  4. Thanks Peter

  5. Hi Phil - sorry I hunted out my collection (AK 308780) and I see it remains unidentified - I tentatively placed it as ?Sedum - so I suggest you email your image to Bill Sykes (sykesw@landcareresearch,co,nz) and see if he can put a name on it. he should be able to as the Crassulaceae are one of his specialties.

  6. Thanks Peter I will drop him a line now. Will post his reply

  7. Right - I have an answer - your plant is Crassula fallax.

  8. Hi Peter does that mean it is a non-native species?
