    This is growing in our hen run and we have had a couple of unexplained deaths,
    Could this plant be responsile

    That is poroporo - a Solanum your image suggests you have S. aviculare but I'd need to see better images of the flower to be sure. The green fruits are toxic to humans but not the ripe fruits. I don't know if this plant is toxic to poultry. Solanum aviculare is listed as "Declining".

    Thank you Peter. It seems to be toxic except for the ripe berry. Can't be sure whether it is the culprit but it would be better removed.
