On roadside up toward Pikarere farm, Titahi Bay. Had a 2 cm flowers, off white with pointed petals.
Looks like a clematis to me and if flowering now will likely be native. Perhaps C. forsteri although one of the locals might know better.
John Barkla is correct. Clematis forsterii - the Wellington coastal race that Allan (1961) called C. hookeriana I think.
