  1. does supplejack get this big

  2. if its not supplejack ( Ripogonum scandens ) then i dont know what it is

  3. Hi Terry, supplejack doesn't get that big. Its most likely to be Parsonsia heterophylla. It often grows so large that it fall out of its host through shear weight. I have also seen Rubus as large as that but it usually has distinctive bulges visible. The next time you see this vine try to find the top in the canopy and it should solve your mystery. Cheers Matt

  4. HI Terry, definitely not supplejack. It could be kohia, our native passion vine. I've seen stems as large as that up in Auckland. Have a look at this page http://www.nzpcn.org.nz/flora_details.aspx?ID=1102 it should be flowering about nowish

  5. ok thanks seems right heres a photo of a shoot

  6. Astrid is correct - that is kohia (Passiflora tetrandra) your sprig of foliage confirms this

  7. Thanks Peter :-) Terry just out of interest - where did you find this lovely tumble of passionvine?
