  1. Identification Please

  2. Hi, I'm really stumped with this species, if its a weed, maybe it's one we don't yet have a picture for yet. Can anyone help? It was growing on Mt Taranaki, on one of the walks near Wilkies pools, Dawson falls side. Cheers

  3. and another

  4. Hi Matt, I think this is Senecio rufiglandulosus - a native.

  5. Hi John, Thanks so much , I just had a good look through the profile and it definitely fits nicely. Feel a bit thick now i definitely had a look at the profile earlier in the year and thought because of the darker ray florets it was different, it was just that they were saturated....doh. =) Cheers again John

  6. John is correct. A beautiful species that should be widely cultivated.

  7. S. rufiglandulosus is morphologically variable and the plants on Mt Taranaki form a large woody shrub with glossier leaves. Colenso and others spent much time trying to sort out various entities with S. rufiglandulosus, but the situation with this species is very complex and requires professional attention from someone with experience in NZ's Senecio. Just a little hint ...

  8. Wow, what a handsome plant, never seen it before now.
