Is this Carex pumila, I wasn't equipped to collect any. North of Westport along a rapidly eroding coast, the original habitat was probably a back dune hollow.

Hi Graeme, I can help with this for a change. You definitely have C. pumila there. A fantastic species much overlooked, it has sand binding qualities too. Cheers Matt
