    Could anyone please help me identify this plant I photographed on Emily Pass (Ailsa Mountains, Routeburn) last weekend? It was growing in a rocky environment at 1600m of elevation

    It looks like a Haastia sinclairii to me, probably var. fulvida which is found in the area (it has yellower tomentum than v. sinclairii). http://www.nzpcn.org.nz/flora_details.aspx?ID=1964
