  1. Which Leptinella is this?

    I have this in my garden and it trails down my retaining walls like a veil. I obtained it from a friend many years ago and would love to know which one this is. Many thanks :-)

    Hi Beth, Leptinella are notoriously difficult to identify. There is a paper by David Lloyd that gives good outlines of the leaves of the various species. Go to http://www.tandfonline.com/loi/tnzb20#.VSyd2ZO4IUM and search for "A revision of the New Zealand, Subantarctic, and South American species of Cotula, Section Leptinella". You might be able to match it with your plant. From your photos I would guess Leptinella squalida

    This is one of the many unnamed entities currently included by Lloyd (1972) in L. dioica. Your plant has been variously marketed as L. "Giant" and L. "Seal Island". It has little resemblance to the type of L. dioica. All NZ Leptinella are in serious need of a modern taxonomic revision.
