I photographed this little creature today at Omokoroa, near Tauranga. The flower is about 1 cm in length and the plant a ground-hugger. No way can I identify it, all suggestions welcome.
Hi John, do you possibly have any pictures of the leaves of this specimen, it looks like a Viola spp. at this stage.
It looks like a pale form of Viola odorata. The foliage should be a giveaway.
Here is the foliage. I'm still baffled.
