  1. Spiranthes colony found

I don't know if its of interest, but I just found a large colony (hundreds at least) of the 'Nationally Vulnerable' Ladies tresses orchid Spiranthes on my land at Horopito (on the flanks of Ruapehu). They are growing in manuka/sedge/sphagnum bog at 750m altitude. While photographing them I discovered a fernbird nest too!
