Habitat

Black-striped wallaby occur in forest habitats with dense understory (for shelter during the day) with adjacent open forest or grass habitat (for feeding at night).

Description

Black-striped wallaby has a grey-brown coat and as the name already indicates very unique dark dorsal stripes.

Distribution

Restricted to Kauwau Island, now presumed extinct in New Zealand
